Holston River park close by but missed by many

Holston Hills River park is close but missed by many!  When our Heart Truth walking group heard we were going to Holston Hills River park they were asking Where in the world is that?  And while it is not known to a lot of folks it is a REALLY pretty park with lots to do there.   I go off the first exit on james white parkway where it says Riverside Drive and you cross over at the light to hit Riverside Road.  You go right by McWherter park and keep coming out another mile.  You will see Williams Creek Golf (Wee Course) on your left and pass Vulcan material area and then veer up off to the right as this road winds around a pretty area about half mile then the first road you come too off Riverside is Holston Hills and you take a left and will soon see the park on your right.  (others come by way of boyds bridge road)
There are nice covered picnic tables, restrooms, soccer fields, boat ramps and a pretty open 3/4 mile paved loop that goes next to the water (holston river) and also a back loop that is hillier and goes another mile or so back in the woods.     We did 2-21/2 miles and then CArol O and I headed out on our bikes on Strawplains (just short way) and saw some baby lambs that were so cute, then took right on Asbury road and this is a route out to Kodak road off thorngrove pike. We like to head out 13 miles and stop to eat a bite at Tuckahoe Trading post which is always good and friendly spot.
